Birds on Earth Collection

The inspiration for this collection are the photos from the Instagram account of @birdsonearth. The titles for each artwork were based on the name of the birds, and some were combined with the flowers painted in them.

One of my struggles in creating art is what colour combination to use, I always tend to fall on the same colour palette. Then I came across @birdsonearth and got inspired by how beautifully the colours of the birds were captured in their actual habitat in nature. Hence, the idea for this collection came to fruition.

Birth Month Flowers Collection

This mini artworks flower collection is inspired by my family’s birth months. Dedicated to my family, my first inspiration, my number one supporters, and my whole world.

These artworks will suit bookshelves, side tables, small rooms, or nurseries to accentuate the space. Your family’s birth month flowers would surely look beautiful lined up in your living area, too.

Pastel Series Collection

This collection is a series of pastel colours in different shades of almost all colours. By using joint compound as a texture paste, the cracking on the petals is inevitable, giving the artwork definition and an extra edge.

This collection is an absolute revelation because I was only trying to experiment with every medium and material I could source. This joint compound and acrylic paint gave me happiness in creating these artworks.

Hi, I’m Jay-Ann.

I’m the Filipino creator of Akin Artworks in Perth, Western Australia. Welcome to my website!

I come from a family of furniture makers and wood sculptors, so I can say I am of an artist’s bloodline.

During a break from my work of 13 years in the construction industry, when I had my second child and then my third child, not long after, I saw a video online that ignited a spark in my then seemingly dull soul.

At that moment, I knew I needed to take this journey for myself. Thus, Akin Artworks was born.
